Why I set up a record label, by Okedara

Music executive and Chief Executive Officer, Chippy Record Label, Ezekiel Okedara, popularly known as Toye, has given reasons for setting up his record label.

The serial entrepreneur made this know recently in an interactive session with the media, when he spoke on his journey into the entertainment space. He said, “as someone that likes playing musical instruments, I found love in music and entertainment. I also believe so much in talents.”

He added, “the journey has not been easy; there have been ups and downs but we learn every day. I thank God, so far, it has been amazing seeing the label and artist growing.”

According to Toye, who hails from Ogun State, the record label was founded on August 1, 2020, and currently, has Dagizah signed on to the label.

The 25 years old chief executive, hinting on his decision to support upcoming music acts in the industry, said: “I’ve always admired young, brave and talented artist right from time. I found out a pure talent in the present label artist so I decide to support him.”

On what his label considers before signing an upcoming act, he listed humility, loyalty and good character as a part of the criteria they look out for.

He further noted that his label is open to signing more talented musicians if they possess the above listed qualities

The music enthusiast, businessman and now music executive studied Primary Education Study at the Federal College of Education, Osiele, where he bagged a National Certificate in Education (NCE).
