A new movie, which will premiere in cinemas today, Friday, January 30, at Silverbird cinemas, has got a lot of Nigerians excited. It’s The Department, a romantic and crime movie from the stables of Inkblot Productions in association with Closer Pictures.

This corporate espionage flick is a break away from the norm of story telling. A secret organization known as The Department and run by young professionals, blackmails top executives into selling their companies to the ‘man’ behind the Department. Two lovers, Tolu and Nnamdi, opt out of The Department to get married. They’ve broken the rule, one which the Department has refused to ignore. The pressure, intrigues, blackmail from the group soon test their love for each other.

The movie parades a blend of established and talented rising stars like Desmond Elliot, Majid Michel, OsasIghodaro, Jide Kosoko, O.C. Ukeje, Kenneth Okolie and Somkele Iyamah.

According to CEO/MD of FilmOne, Mr. Kene Mkparu, “It’s not the everyday kind of movie; it’s a new wave of storytelling that allows viewers to surf on ingenuity and sound technical values. It’s a must see as viewers will be enthralled with the intriguing world of corporate espionage”.

The Department is written by Chinaza Onuzo, directed by Remi Vaughan- Richards and production is by Chinaza Onuzo and Uduak Oguamanam. This highly pulsating movie is distributed by FilmOne.
