TEEN Africa TV debuts on StarTimes Channel 361

Africa’s first indigenous television channel for teenagers, Teen Africa TV (TATV), has made its debut on Startimes’ at Channel 361. The TV station’s signal was officially launched on January 1st and the station has remained on-air since the January 1, launch.

Speaking at the launch Founder and CEO of Teen Africa TV Charles Novia described the channel as “a new and exciting niche television channel and is the first platform for teenagers in the African broadcast space, running 24 hours daily with the best of original content for teenagers aged 13 to 19.”

According to Novia, who is a notable Nollywood filmmaker, “our programming has the best of original content, in genres of talk shows, lifestyles, educational, entertainment, and events. Teen Africa TV has the biggest content library and resources for teenagers across Africa and we have the best of original content for the demographics.”

The CEO also hinted that TATV will be online and on YouTube and there are plans to launch the channel in North America and the Caribbean in the first half of 2021. In his words, “we want to give the Diaspora African Teens a taste of the pulsating values and creativity of the African Youth Experience. There’s nothing like this and we have built the biggest visual ecosystem of teens and young adults in Africa.”
