Hilarious joke merchant, Seyi Law, last Sunday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, joined the train of Glo Laffta Fest, the most entertaining comedy show sponsored by Globacom, for the first time since the show kicked off weeks ago.

The dark-skinned comedian was part of the crew that sent Yenagoa reeling in laughter in spite of the inclement weather of the day. Residents of the Izon kingdom trooped out in their thousands to savour fun at the Bayelsa State Cultural Centre.

Though the sky suddenly became overcast a few minutes into the rolling out of the green carpet preparatory to the actual commencement of the show, organisers well prepared, as they rolled out the massive Glo-branded parasols to help fun-seekers gain access to the hall without being drenched.

Incidentally, Seyi Law, was one of the major acts of the night, and conscious of making his first appearance in the current season of the very popular comedy extravaganza, he rose to the occasion and entertained the audience.

The show began with up and coming acts such as the promising home boy, Emmanuel Debegene (a.k.a MC Emmaralo), Don Wizzy, British Pastors, who also featured in Glo Laffta Fest Owerri and Warri, Barrack king and G-Bones, who all set the mood for the celebrated comedians.

Lagos-based comedian and on-air-personality De Don, had earlier performed focusing on the current economic situation in the country. He sent the audience reeling in bouts of laughter with lots of wisecracks.

Senator, who came after Seyi Law, gave Bayelsa women something to cheer about when he joked that they are so street-wise that no man could take advantage of them even if they (the women) were drunk. His exit joke, for which he got the loudest applause, was about people who assume false airs after only a few days in foreign countries.

Other performers include Dan D’Humorous, who has remained constant in the current season of the show, 2CanTok, who got a sustained ovation for his hilarious parallel between rich and poor people’s lifestyles, and the kingpin of the night, Gordons who wrapped up the show with side-splitting jokes.

Mercy Johnson-Okojie anchored the explosive show, which also provided a platform to celebrate different categories of Globacom subscribers. The hall was filled to capacity, with many fun-seekers standing in the back, along the sides of the hall and in the gallery. DJ XGee dished out pulsating music to the audience’s delight.

Glo subscriber and student, Gift Osareme beat other ladies to collect a goody bag for her dancing steps, while in the male category, Simeone Soroghaye, a worker and part-time student walked home with the winning prize.

Subscribers who correctly answered questions about Glo products and services were also celebrated and presented with goody bags. The show holds, today, in Calabar.

To attend the show, Glo subscribers are expected to use up to N2,000 credit within one month and text LOL and preferred location to the short code 240; for example, “LOL Calabar” to 240.
