Sankara set to hit the stage at MUSON Centre

The story about the last 100 hours in the life of African patriot and revolutionary, Captain Thomas Sankara, will hit the stage at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Sankara is written and directed by Jude Idada.

Derived from a potpourri of facts and fiction, Sankara is a dramatic re-enactment of the conspiracies, intrigues and events that swirled around the ‘African Che Guevara,’ as he is fondly called, as the hours ticked towards his assassination. It is a story of vision, integrity, faith, patriotism, treachery, betrayal and one man’s fight to free the black race from oppression and his indefatigable love for his country and continent.

Captain Thomas Isidore Noel Sankara, though assassinated by his trusted companion and friend, comes alive on stage on and encourages Africa to believe in the spirit of her heroes. It reenacts how she must tell her own story, and forge ahead and rise from the ashes of its past into the magnificence of its glorious future.

To prepare the audience for this dramatic excursion, there will be a pre-event and mini-show involving poetry, comedy and music, featuring Ric Hassani, Dan The Humorous, Jenim Dibie, Efe Azino, Keke (Project Fame Winner 2016). There will be a display of art works by celebrated and upcoming artists.

Sankara, The Stage Play is billed to attract government officials, students, celebrities, politicians, art connoisseurs and some special guests.
