Professor Johnbull wants effective service delivery, prompt payment of utility bills

The fraudulent predilection of some citizens to circumvent payment for public utilities is the thematic concern of this week’s episode of the satiric TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, powered by Globacom.

Entitled Cold Meters, the episode is an exposition of how members of the public approach public utilities and react to perceived poor services through non-payment of bills or by tampering with metres and other consumption-reading devices installed to gauge and  calibrate charges.

Some of the posers to be unravelled on the programme include, What are the usual arguments advanced to justify non-payment of bills? Should consumers pay for epileptic services? Can anyone justify the huge sums claimed by electricity distribution companies? and If consumers don’t pay for services, how will the service providers sustain the services?

Additionally, viewers will be apprised of the latest level of the love tango between Flash (Stephen Odimgbe) and Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko) as well as the qualifications for “professional freezers”.

The inimitable thespian, Chief Chika Okpala, aka Zebrudayah alias 4.30 features in Cold Meters. The activities of his ‘wife’ and a “professional freezer” almost cost him his hard earned integrity as an upright man. This is just as Flash is forced to hawk yams for Mai Doya (Funky Mallam) for reasons viewers will find out as they book a date with the new episode.

Professor Johnbull takes the air at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday on DSTV Africa Magic Family and GOTV Channel 2, with repeat broadcast on Thursday at 9.30 p.m. and on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday. It is also aired on Anambra Broadcasting Service at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.
