Last year ended with a celebrated gospel music concerts tagged Praise Blast, held at Hi Impact Planet Amusement Park on Km 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. A total of 19 performers took to the best stage in the country on perhaps the largest open-air performance space, with over 10,000 music lovers in attendance.

The maiden edition of the show saw living legends like Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, Mama Fasoyin, and Midnight Crew together with the 260-member strong Daystar Choir performing, among others.

According to the Managing Director of Solution Media and Infotech Ltd, operators of the amusement park, Prince Adeyeloye Lipede, the free concert was a huge success as the company put in all the best to make it happen.

“It was fun,” Lipede said, while reviewing the show, “a lot of A-list artistes performed. It was awesome seeing how Obey performed, songs that had not been heard in years. It was a smooth show. Our stage is 46 metres long and 14 metres high, the biggest in Africa. It is a permanent arena for concerts. We also have the African Night, where we showcased African culture, design and food. Residents in the park had fun, as artistes performed, too. African Night and Praise Blast are annual events. We just want to make sure Nigerians are well entertained. The Praise Blast is an African thing. We hope to take it to the rest of Africa.”

Also, Team Leader, Digital Networking, PR and Brand Manager, Victoria Odimba, said, “Hi Impact is all about fun and entertainment. Our park is for all age brackets and our line-up of activities appeal to every generation no matter their inclinations. The concert was to thank God for being our helper in the one year of Hi Impact Planet’s opening. The concert will always be on a world-class basis. We provided buses that took guests back to town after the concert at dawn.”

Deputy General Manager, Ufuoma Ogodo, noted that the company’s intention to create a gospel music fair out of the concert in the coming years, noting to her, “We wanted an African Gospel Music Fair, a night of back-to-back gospel ministration. Everyone was truly blessed. We had a group from South Africa. It is our desire to take Nigerian artistes to parts of Africa to perform. Pastor Enoch Adeboye came and blessed the arena to bring the concert to a close.”

Lipede said Easter and summer are the two holiday periods that the park would come alive again with a super concert like the one held on December 26, 2016. He also assured that there would be concerts in March and April, adding, “We are ready to partner with anybody for concert. We want to be like World Disney Park. With our Dance Afrique, we export African artistes to international platforms. We are open for collaboration and sponsorship.”

Odimba said with Dance Afrique, a lot of Nigerian and African artistes have been put on world stages to perform alongside some of the best from around the world.
