Professor Olabode Lucas’ new book, Iroye, Stories from Childhood, is set to be presented at the University of Ibadan Staff Club, on August 29, 2019 at 11am. The presentation is for the new book to be autographed.

According to the retired professor of crop physiology and nutrition at the University of Ibadan, the book offers “readers a generous entry unto a scenic past filled with memories of journeys, education, discoveries and training from St. John School Iloro to student days in Ilesha Grammar School.”

He continues, “the book weaves personal collections around stories of colonial and national dimensions, with particular interests in the economy, the civil service, sport life, and the polities of the day.”

As a way of giving back to the university that produced him, retired Professor Olabode Lucas instituted three categories of yearly prizes to the tune of N2 million, describing the gesture as a mark of appreciation and promotion of the University of Ibadan where he graduated in 1969.

Lucas is the author of The Split Image, snapshots on some Nigerian and Intentional events.
