As Embrace International Assembly, Ikorodu, Lagos, prepares to mark the Season 10 of its yearly concert, tomorrow, Good Friday, chairman of the concert committee, Bro. Samuel Turoti, has affirmed the appearance of several gospel artistes such as, Chief Ebenezer Obey, Tope Alabi, Cobham Asuquo, Tim Godfrey, Bois Olorun, Bayo Adesuyi, Damola Adesina, Ksticks, Spirit and Life Choir, Battle Axe and Tolu Sax, among others, have been invited to perform at the event.

Apart from the musical renditions on the night of the event, he also stated that there would be medical outreach programme in the morning before the event at Ikorodu Town Hall, where free medical treatment, free drugs and 300 eye-glasses would be given to the public.

According to him, the concert is not only land marking, the purpose is to bring Nigerian youths together so that they would know Christ as their Saviour. “Our salvation is free, hence our attempt to emulate the gesture bestowed on us by our Lord Jesus Christ to administer free medicals to as many that would come to the event and arrangement has also been made to feed about 20,000 people for five consecutive Sundays at the Embrace International Assembly premises after the Embrace concert.

Admonishing the mammoth crowd that filled the large auditorium to celebrate the beginning of Holy Week, the officiating minister, Pastor (Mrs.) Tokunbo Adio, urged them to emulate the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.

The cleric, who spoke on the theme, “The Goodness of God,” noted that many Christians had taken the love of God for granted, adding, the essence of Christianity is about love, which Christ came to demonstrate.

She called on Nigerians irrespective, of their faith, to love one another. She said the country would be a better place if all and sundry eschew evil and do the right thing.

Dignitaries expected at the event include the governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, the lawmakers representing Ikorodu and Oba of Ikorodu, among others.
