Bola--CopyTop Nollywood screenwriter, publicist and blogger Bola Aduwo is Ladybrille Magazine’s Woman of the Month of October. A trained broadcaster who worked as a Senior producer on Kapital FM 92.9, (a station under the Federal Radio Corporation Of Nigeria) Abuja, Aduwo discovered her flair for writing after her former school mate Emem Isong, made her realize her gift.

Raised in the same household as her famed fashion designer cousin, Duro Olowu, after she lost her father at a tender age, Aduwo would later team up with Isong to co-write many Nollywood’s hit screen plays such as ‘A Minute to Midnite’ (1997), ‘Hit & Run’ (1998) and ‘For Real’ etc.’ In 2005, she left her job as a broadcaster and moved to Lagos to pursue her passion first for writing, then as a publicist. She has since co-written even more successful screenplays for movies such as ‘Reloaded,’ ‘Guilty Pleasures,’  ‘Bursting Out,’ and ‘I’ll Take My Chances.’ In recent times, she wrote ‘Code of Silence,’ a film about rape, which is now screening in theaters across Nigeria and available online. Aduwo joins host and publisher of Ladybrille Ms. Uduak Oduok to discuss her career trajectory so far and the business of writing in Nollywood. Details of Aduwo’s career trajectory can be sourced at http://ladybrillemag.com/bolaaduwo/.
