Nigerian Folklore Society (NSF) has begun preparations for its yearly congress which holds from April 29 to 30, 2019, at the Idris Abdulkarm Auditorium National Universities Commission, Abuja.

Nigerian Folklore Society (NSF) has begun preparations for its yearly congress which holds from April 29 to 30, 2019, at the Idris Abdulkarm Auditorium National Universities Commission, Abuja.

The congress, in its fifth instalment, will be held alongside the 14th edition conference by the society, as well as presentations of academic papers by scholars and researchers in the folklorist field.

The society has, therefore, called for suitable papers by interested persons for the congress, who are expected to send a 300-word abstract, centred on the theme Resilience and Dynamism in Folklore in the 21st Century not later than March 31 2019.

According to NFS executive committee, led by its president, Dr. Bukar Usman, the proposed abstract, which is expected to contain the name of the presenters, institution, email address and no more than five key words, should be sent to nigerianfolkloresociety@gmail.com. Some of the sub-themes expected to be explored in the papers include folklore, cartoon, animation and visual effects; ethnomusicology and popular music.
