Date for ZUMA Film Festival 2019 (ZUFF), organised by the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), has been announced. The festival will hold from December 1 to 7 in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital and traditional host city. In all past editions of the film festival, Abuja has played host to thousands of domestic and foreign film enthusiasts, who turn up to savour the best and the unique features of Nigeria’s film industry. The Theme for ZUFF 2019 is: Content Connectivity: Everyview, Everywhere.

NFC, in a statement issued in Jos, Plateau State and signed by Brian Etuk, Head of Public & Intergovernmental Affairs, said the festival would be an improvement on past editions, especially as the contributions of the film industry to the nation’s economy as well as the leap it has attained as an export commodity continues to grow.

The statement quotes Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, NFC’s managing director and chairman, Organising Committee of ZUFF that no effort will be spared to ensure that ZUFF 2019 sustains the narratives that Nigeria is indeed the hub of film production activities in Africa.

Maduekwe explained that the vast growth and the great potentials within the film sector of Nigeria makes it imperative to emplace platforms where those who develop and produce contents for film are accessed to opportunities of funding, marketing, distribution and exhibition; with and through domestic and foreign collaborations and partnerships.

According to him, ZUFF 2019, the 10th in the series will again provide the platform to sustain the recognition of Nigerian filmmakers who have or are adding the needed value to the development of the art and business of filmmaking.
