Amid growing concern about increasing rate of suicide and depression in the country, a motivational book that would point people to success despite challenges has been introduced to the public. You Too Can is written by Ifeoma Ndiolo-Enaholo, a seasoned media and insurance practitioner.

The book is a biography with an exposition of how the author has lived a life of faith. It is a book that shows how faith and strong belief in the almighty God helped the author to walk through life’s temptations, struggle and various challenges with positive attitude.

At the official launch of You Too Can in Lagos, special guest of honour, Prof. Pat Utomi, challenged Nigerians to write more books to revive the reading culture in the country. According to him, it takes courage to write because of fear of misrepresentation of issues and criticisms from professionals.

Represented by Mr. Rasheed Adegbenro, Utomi commended the author for putting a lot of industry to bear in writing, noting that the book is an addition to the nations’ wealth of literature.

Managing Director of Pinecrest Healthcare Ltd, Chijioke Onyia, who chaired the occasion, described the book as an exceptional material that has the ultimate objective of helping individuals achieve their dreams and aspirations. Onyia said the book, unlike other foreign motivational texts, is written with local illustrations, places and by a local author, who uses international perspective to drive home her convictions.

“I have gone through the book,” he said. “It is non-fictional material based on primary experience of the author. It is a master piece that everyone must support to make it go viral in order to impact and change many lives for good”.

While reviewing the book, the author of Selling Champion, George Emetuche, said You Too Can is a work put together in simple prose with lessons and summary at the end of each chapter. He informed the gathering that the book is a blend of true life story, motivational in approach and endorsed by a renowned economist and writer, and stressed that it is a must read for everyone.

“The author started the book on a motivational note, deals with problems and proffers solutions. She believes that everyone has the power to determine the course of their life. The author proffers steps to achieving success and these include ‘define your plan,’ ‘design your choice,’ ‘formulate strategies,’ ‘execute your plans,’ then you succeed,” he stated.

In her speech, Ndiolo-Enaholo, informed guests that obstacles and challenges could be applied for better human beings to emerge if only people could persevere. According to her, without challenges life would be boring as challenges ,make man draw from his inner strength, stretch himself beyond assumed limitations and achieve feats never thought possible.

According to her, “It is my sincere hope that anyone who reads You Too Can would benefit from my chronicle of rich experiences and expositions of solid principles that were built over time. I have always walked with God, the author and the finisher of my faith, and I plead with you to learn to do the same. Positive attitude is everything.”

The occasion also featured a stage presentation of the author’s poem ‘Malodorous country’ that mimicked the various socio-political and economic shortcomings in Nigeria by the Troopers Arts Production, and a short paper presentation by Folashade Adefisayo on ‘Challenges Are Steps to Success’ among others.
