‘I’ve always wanted to be a superstar’- Laura Barbie IV

Nwaejike Chiamaka Gina, better known as Laura Barbie IV is a Nigerian model and entertainer.

For the model and seasoned entertainer, she had always wanted to be a superstar right from childhood; little wonder she stopped at nothing in pursuing her dreams and passion to the very point of achieving them.

“Growing up, I always wanted to be a public figure. I grew up involved in pageantry, so I got a taste of posing, wearing great clothes, dancing and winning awards at a young age. I love the thrill of internal competition,” she revealed in a recent interview.

Laura Barbie IV who was born on November 29, 1982, and hails from Isiala Ngwa Abia State, also shared the challenges she had to grapple with while kicking-off her career, she noted; “My major setback was lack of understanding within the industry. The most important tool I used was that of competitors monitoring. I studied fellow entertainers and various industry stakeholders. After understanding how to position myself and my vested brands, I came to survive smoothly.”

The pretty model who has carved a niche for herself with hard work and consistency advised up and coming models to be hardworking and determined.

“Challenge yourself, do work you care about, take the risk, believe in yourself, have a vision, find good people, learn from mistakes, know your goals, face your fears and take action”, she said.

Meanwhile, like the rest of the world, Laura Barbie IV’s 2020 plans were also affected by the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic.
She says, “This is an unfortunate pandemic.

However, for every crisis, arises opportunities. The entertainment industry shall sure have a huge blast when COVID-19 shall be put to rest. It shall be more innovative. I currently have a reality TV show in progress (Nigerian housewives in Johannesburg South Africa), so I’m hoping for the best. I’ve some more personal goals, but these are the things that I’m focusing on and determined to achieve this year.”
