Ayodele’s Warnings to the Nations… Charting divine path for better polity

A new book that sets a crystal gaze on Nigeria’s political and economic fortunes under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is set for launch next week in Lagos. Titled Warnings to the Nations, the book, written by Primate Ayodele, makes modest forecast about what was in store for the entire polity. And, just like biblical times when God spoke through his prophets to warn the nation of Israel on things to come, so, too, has Primate Elias Ayodele put the country on guard so the needed change ordinary Nigerians yearn for would not be a mirage.

While speaking in his office in Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos recently, Ayodele, founder of INRI Spiritual Evangelical Church, said his new book, a series of warnings, which he releases every year, conveys God’s divine plan for the country, if only its leadership would be sensitive to divine leading and heed the warnings.

According to him, “My prophecies are a collection of divine signals of what will happen ahead of time”, adding that those who need the prophecies will heed them and be wise for it”.

Top on the list is an appeal for President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the cries of the common people of Nigeria, who he said were suffering, an advice former President Goodluck Jonathan did not heed, which the evangelist said contributed to his fall from power. He added that Jonathan would have won the election if he had heeded his series of warnings regarding how he should manage the country. In order to heed the cry of the masses, Ayodele tasked Buhari to focus more on the economy and revamp it, adding, “He should give food, electricity, provide employment, security and infrastructure, especially good roads to Nigerians”.

For the man of God added, “A nation needs prophets otherwise it perishes. My prophecies contain all, from security, terrorism, economic, sports and political fronts”.

For President Buhari to succeed, Ayodele advised him to take on former governors of Lagos and Rivers States, Raji Fashola and Rotimi Amaechi in his government, and retain current Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase. He, however, noted that Buhari’s government would be buffeted on many sides by strong forces that pulled down previous governments, and added that a former president would frustrate Buhari’s efforts to make things work for the generality of Nigerians. Also, the financial woes of many states would deepen beyond what they are at the moment, Ayodele said. Although Ayodele said President Buhari would fight corruption, he was quick to add that corruption would fight back and charged him to stand firm.

In spite of these adversaries, Ayodele was optimistic that President Buhari would do his best for the country. He, however, warned him against reliance on foreign help, particularly the industrialised nations, or G-8 in his fight against terrorists, saying that although some Chibok schoolgirls would be rescued, some would not. Ayodele also warned Buhari against relying on the state governors, as they might scuttle his administration.

Another area where Ayodele insisted Buhari should guard again is sycophancy or praise-singing, an art of subversion Nigerians have perfected to high heavens to confuse and scuttle many a politician who would otherwise have performed to fulfill campaign promises. The primate decried this devious ploy by Nigeria’s political hander-on to sway leaders from their set objectives in office.

In capping the content of his book, Ayodele has a few ominous pronouncements for Buhari, All Progressives Congress (APC), Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo. According to him, “Buhari will not have a second term; he and Osinbajo will not work well together. APC is going to break up; Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) will come back again. Saraki should pray hard otherwise he would be impeached!”

As the man of God gets ready to launch Warnings to the Nations on July 3, 2015, he’s optimistic that Nigerian leaders would heed his timely prophetic warnings and not go the way of those before them. He advised them to lead the people with the wisdom of God. Such wisdom, he said, entails doing what is right before man and God, an ingredient that has prospered advanced nations of the world that Nigerians envy.
