Amosun pledges support for creative arts, entertainment practitioners

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has assured creative arts and entertainment practitioners of his administration’s support, adding that it would tap into the potentials in the various sectors of the economy, in line with the diversification drive.

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has assured creative arts and entertainment practitioners of his administration’s support, adding that it would tap into the potentials in the various sectors of the economy, in line with the diversification drive.

Amosun gave the assurance when he received organisers of the 2017 Best of Nollywood (BON) Award in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office yesterday.The governor, who decried the monolithic nature of the nation’s economy, advocated for the promotion of the industry, because of its huge potentials to the socio-economic development of the country. 

Noting that Ogun state is the cradle of entertainment, as giants like Hubert Ogunde, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Wole Soyinka and Olu Jacobs, among many others, hail from the state, he stated that his government would continue to provide an enabling environment for the growth of all sectors of the economy, including the creative arts industry.

Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Mr. Seun Oloketuyi said the team also came to present the hosting right of the 2017 BON Award in Ogun State, to the governor.
