Founder and President of SILEC Initiatives, Mr. Sunny Irakpo, recently paid a courtesy call on Ali Baba and used the opportunity to applaud the king of comedy on his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry and for inspiring a generation of youths, including himself.

Irakpo said Ali Baba is one of his inspirations in the realisation of his dream, SILEC Initiative. He declared the comedy king as a role model to himself and Nigerian youths. He said his SILEC Initiative was out to sustain the legacies the likes of Ali Baba were creating in the entertainment industry.

He said SILEC Initiative was borne out of the passion and zeal to confront key social problems Nigerian youths face daily. The Initiative, which is a non-profit non-governmental organisation, kicked off in 2010 as a premier project under the NYSC programme in Lagos.

Irakpo expressed concern at the escalating rate of social vices in the country, adding that individuals who feel challenged by the pace of development should emulate Ali Baba by teaming up with like minds to assist youths in meaningful endeavours.

According to Irakpo, his organisation has four projects within Project Four24. These four projects include drug abuse elimination campaign strategy, enlightenment on sexual molestation and child abuse, culture and language preservation and youth development and empowerment.

Mr. Sunny reiterated that his initiative was to complement the efforts of the likes of Ali Baba in developing the talents of youths and the community as a whole.

On his part, Ali Baba commended Irakpo for his initiatives aimed at helping young people overcome challenges. He promised to support in whichever way he could, saying developing young talent is dear to his heart.
