Summit empowers Nigerians in skills, self-development
The Lagos Social Good Summit (LSGS) has partnered with the Lagos Startup Week and Start Zone to equip and inspire Nigerians with the requisite knowledge in integrating technology with their social initiatives.
To that extent, it organised a conference to discuss the solutions aimed at achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the challenges associated with it.
The event, which was held at the Zone’s centre in Gbagada, Lagos, witnessed an impressive turnout of people from all walks of life, including social innovators and community leaders.
This year’s summit with the theme: Future in Focus 2030NOW, New Media As a Tool For Social Development, was held to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) week.
It focused on goal four to ensure inclusive and quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all and goal eight, which strives to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, as well as productive employment and decent work for all.
Addressing participants on education, Executive Director of One African Child Foundation, Victoria Ibiwoye said: “Quality education is about competence and literacy. Technology needs to be integrated into learning for learners to compete on a global scale.
Speaking, the Lead Consultant, Audacity 2Lead, Dayo Samuel, said: “You should think of a way to make yourself a global person by solving a local problem with a global perspective.”
