PTAD changes directors, pays N7.5 billion pensions
The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has announced changes in its management cadre in an effort to reposition for better service delivery.
A statement by the Deputy Director, Corporate Communications, Emma Okondo, said Ndidi Egwuatu was appointed as Director, Civil Service Pension Department while Olufunmilayo Onafowokan is new Director, Pensioners Support Service Department. Their appointment takes immediate effect.
Egwuatu, who has a Masters Degree in International Law and Diplomacy, was until her appointment, an Acting Chief Risk Officer stemming from her many years of experience in banking.
Onafowokan, a fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has had various experiences in financial control and auditing in the private sector and educational service.
Also, PTAD had made some officers substantive directors, including Babagana Kaigama, Director Police Pension Department; Charles Wali, Director, Parastatals Pension Department and Sulayman Yusuff-Shelleng, Director, Corporate Services Department.
The directorate assured members of the public that it remained committed to fulfilling its responsibilities to pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
Meanwhile, PTAD has concluded the payment of August 2017 monthly pensions of retirees under the DBS amounting to N7.5 billion paid to 236,705 pensioners.It also paid N834. 4 million pension arrears to 1,690 verified civil service pensioners from the South-South zone.
