The Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun has challenged Nigerian youths to establish Small Scale businesses to earn a living and be employers of labour in order to reduce the high rate of unemployment.

Mrs. Amosun explained that embracing small scale businesses to promote local products was a veritable means of overcoming the economic challenges, adding that acquiring vocational skills would equally reduce propensity of youths competing for white collar jobs that were no longer available.

The Ogun state governor’s wife, who spoke at the Uplift Youth Training and Beautification programme in Abeokuta, also advised beneficiaries of the programme to be business-oriented for them to distinguish themselves among their contemporaries.

She assured that the State government was committed to uplifting the lives of its citizenry and continue to create conducive environment for business to thrive in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Damola Owolabi, thanked Mrs. Amosun for taking them a step further in realizing their dreams, especially in the area of economic empowerment, promising to reciprocate her kind gestures by being good ambassadors of the skill acquisition advocacy programme.
