International Women’s Society (IWS), Nigeria has appointed Mrs. Nkoli Ogbolu as the 62nd President.
She takes over from Mrs Abimbola Bawaallah.
While accepting her appointment, Mrs Ogbolu pledged to consolidate on the achievements of her predecessor, and will strive to create better and massive impact with IWS re-strategizing.
She explained that the clamour for the gender parity, gender balance and balance for better society should not be lost on stakeholders.
Her words: “As we have just celebrated the International Women’s Day, we must strike a balance at home, at work, in every facet of our lives. This means that we all must look out for one another if we want life to be purposeful, meaningful, fruitful, and fulfilling.”
Ogbolu pointed out that International Women’s Society, Nigeria is an institution structured on the values of giving back to humanity and community.
“As one of Nigeria‘s earliest NGOs, we have doggedly marched forward in the businesses of charity, creating an enabling environment for our targets – girls, women, children and youth. Those disenfranchised and hurting; trying to heal wounds that need not fester”.
According to her, having be part of the team that christened the blue printer because of strategic direction derived from over 50 years of charity, the gains of which propelled the idea of re-strategising for meaningful changes, for inclusiveness in a world that is fast becoming intolerant of diversity.
“However, the gain of the 21st century technology imperatives will be brought to bear on our work; we will enhance infrastructure to carter for our target. Our plan is to do more collaboration and expand beyond Lagos and Ijebu, possibily abroad, for touching base in the geopolitical zone,” she stated.
Ogbolu has served diligently for 15 years in various capacities as the immediate past vice president of IWS, past Chairperson of IWS Skills Centre Lekki 2012-2018 and a past secretary 2012-2015.
