NABTEB trains staff on etiquette, productivity

Poised to reposition its workforce through positive attitude to work and enhance productivity and efficiency, management of National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) on Tuesday commenced a two day training of staff with a focus on re-valuing office etiquette and organisational culture for supervisory and middle level management cadres.

Speaking at the event in Benin City, Registrar and Chief Executive of the Board, Dr Olatunde Aworanti said the workshop organized in conjunction with Vital Solutions Consult Inc. with the theme, “Promoting Positive Work Ethics and Organisational Culture” was apt and expressed confidence that the lecture would be beneficial to staffers of NABTEB and further improve workplace productivity amongst them.

Guest lecturer and managing consultant, Vital Solutions Consult, Collins Edebiri in his paper said negative behaviours and wrong attitude in workplace have not promoted but help to destroyed our values and harped on the need for value re- orientation to bring about rapid changes in terms of workplace productivity, delivery and in building relationships.

When you come to a workplace where productivity should be the driving force, you easily notice that lot of these negative bahaviours in most workplace slow down the process.

Sadly, We have economic challenges as a nation already and we are now in our workplace also faced with human behaviour challenges, “he lamented.

Edebiri said the essence for the lecture is to reinforce the good values expected to drive organisational objective and productivity adding that the fate of organizations battling with negative attitude and issues of ethics will finally lead to organisational bankruptcy noting that” the bad behaviour makes an organisation to loss time, money and relationships.”

He however expressed confidence that participants at the end of the training will be better informed, equipped and positively imparted to achieve organisational proficiency and service delivery for a better workplace environment in NABTEB warning that grape vine and gossip is amongst the great challenges in the workplace that is dividing organization’s efforts, and killing relationships in the workplace particularly such carried in the social media.
