Malo joins advisory board at Extractive360

Chief Executive Officer, Clean Technology Hub – Energy Innovation Center and Country Campaign Director for Power for All in Nigeria, Ify Malo has joined the Advisory Board of extractive 360.

Malo joins other board members including former chairman, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, who is the Chairman of the e360 board.

Other members of the board are immediate past National Deputy President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Suleiman Gaya, former Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs of the NNPC, Ohi Alegbe, Dr. Jimlas Ogunsakin, Senior Special Assistant on public health, to Ekiti State Governor, Ms. Safiya Adamu, former Chairman, Editorial Board, Leadership Newspapers and Dr Alim Abubarkre, non-Executive President, TEXEM.

Extractive360.com is a specialized web-based publication which provides factual, reliable and up-to-date reports on issues within Nigeria’s extractive industries as well as related developments across the world’s extractive industries and markets

It was set up with an objective to help deepen the implementation of the transparency and accountability principles championed by global extractive industries actors and shape conversations that could transform the management of Nigeria’s oil, gas and solid minerals sectors through enlightened information, with a vision to help achieve a sustainable society through prudent management of Nigeria’s extractive resources.

Speaking on the development, Ms Malo said, “The emergence of Extractive 360 has added an important voice in the extractive governance conversation, particularly in Nigeria and more broadly across Sub-Saharan Africa.”

She added, “I am therefore excited to join the board and lend weight in shaping policies and compliance practices that protects the ecology and the environment, and that people and citizens are priorities even as we seek to economically empower communities and citizens through natural wealth”.

Malo who volunteered her service on the e360 board, leads the Nigerian campaign to promote distributed renewable energy in Nigeria and is one of the country’s leading energy access expert.

She has advised a range of government agencies on how best to support market growth and has held Senior Policy Advisory positions on Energy Policies, Regulations and Partnerships at the Ministry of Power, where she led a number of policy and partnership initiatives for the Nigerian Power Sector including cultivating and managing relationship with the World Economic Forum and World Energy Council, the Europe Energy African Partnership among others.

Ify Malo is a qualified attorney with graduate degrees in Law, Business and Public Policy. She is an African Leadership Initiative PIA Fellow (2012); A Desmond Tutu Fellow (2013); a Crans Montana New Leaders for Tomorrow Fellow (2014); A Dwight Eisenhower Fellow (2015); Global Leadership Academy Fellow (2017).
