Ishaku charges beneficiaries of youth, women empowerment scheme to create wealth, jobs

The Taraba State governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has charged the beneficiaries of the just concluded Youth and Women Empowerment Programme to use the skills they have acquired to create wealth as well as job in their various communities.

The Taraba State governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has charged the beneficiaries of the just concluded Youth and Women Empowerment Programme to use the skills they have acquired to create wealth as well as job in their various communities.

The governor who stated this yesterday in Jalingo at the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Youth and Women Empowerment Programme under the rescue watch at the indoor hall of the Jolly Nyame stadium, tasked the graduates to make adequate use of the skills they acquired during the three months training to herald smiles on the faces of the people of their communities and the state at large.

The 335 graduates who were trained in various skills acquisitions which includes tailoring, hair dressing, cape tray, shoe making, soap making, computer to mention just a few, were directed by the governor to endeavour to go extra legitimate miles to create job for the teaming youths and women.

Ishaku who was elated by the development beckoned at the beneficiaries “ to be conscious of the fact that you are the ambassadors of the women and youth empowerment Programme of this administration.”

Their ability to use “ this opportunity to uplift yourselves economically” according to Ishaku “ will determine the success and sustainability of this scheme as to whom much is given, much is expected.”

Reiterating his determination to as a matter of urgency instruct the Chief of Staff, Government House Administration, Rebo Usman on the need to flag off the second batch of the exercise, the beneficiaries, as solicited by him should work tirelessly round the clock to kick out poverty from the state and the country at large”

He said: “ You cannot afford to fail the people of Taraba State by misusing the public funds that have been committed to your training” stressing that “ you must not treat the scheme the way previous ones were abused.” “ any attempt” for the beneficiaries to “ abuse this gesture of government” such beneficiary (s) the governor said “ shall be compel to face the “ wrath of the law” warning that “ the idea of selling off these equipment provided for you should never in any way be contemplated.”
