As part of effort to raise skillful youths to drive Nigerian economy, Skill power Academy has unveiled a N5million grant to empower and train Nigerian youths.

The convener of the funding conference, Ekemini Udo, at a conference in Abuja pointed out that their target was to stop Nigeria from being labelled as headquarter of poverty and build the capacity of youths to become wealthy in order to contribute to the development of the country.

Udo said: “To avoid the country from being labelled headquarter of poverty, there is need to build Nigerians to become wealthy and contribute to the development of the nation. We are driving an initiative called skill power drive, which is to help raise a skilful economy by raising people who are more skilful to become powerful.”

Udo who is also a consultant with Skill Power initiative pointed out that through the project the group intends to train, empower youths to help them get wealth creation skills, and also help them get funding adding that their trainees are also mentored such that when they get the funds, they would be able to deploy it properly to ensure it is well managed and grows.

He further explained that the newly launched funding conference is the platform where skilfully impacted Nigerians can be funded and also assisted to drive their dream into reality.

He argued that the bridge between the dream and the reality is funding, saying, “no matter how beautiful an idea is, without funding it cannot come to reality. The funding conference is aimed at unveiling the plans.

“We are unveiling brand that would enable people get grants up to N5million but before that they must pass through a process. For people who are interested, they can search for the funding conference where we will put them through to get the grant.”

The funding conference convener said although Skill Power initiative has been empowering people through skills acquisition since 2017, it realized that without providing funds, the beneficiaries remain at the same level hence the initiative of powering funding came in.”
