Illoh insists Akor is DG of NPC

THE Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Dr Clement Illoh, has insisted that Kashim Akor is the authentic Director General (DG) of the National Productivity Centre (NPC).

Immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator ‎Anyim Pius Anyim, had in a letter dated May 28, 2015, asked the erstwhile ‎Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Danladi Ikenya, to act on a letter dated May 15, 2015, appointing Dr. Faith Robert as DG of the Centre.

In the letter with Reference number SGF/6/S11/V1, Anyim referred the former Minister to, “my earlier appointment letter” on “Mr. President’s approval of Dr. Faith Owabhel Robert as Director-General, National Productivity Centre on the 19th May, 2015, vide the attached appointment letter‎ dated 15th May, 2015.”

However, Dr Illoh in a statement in Abuja declined to act on the former SGF’s letter.

“This is to inform the general public that a new Director-General has been appointed for the National Productivity Centre. He is Alhaji Yinusa AKOR, BSc. PGDAP, MPA.

“His appointment took effect from 19th May, 2015. The appointment was conveyed by the Hon. Minister of Labour and Productivity, Sen. Danladi Ikenya through a letter Reference number HMO/LAB/114, dated.19th May, 2015”, stated.

Akor represented the Centre as its Director General at the just-concluded 104th edition of the International Labour Conference organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Robert, who has a letter of appointment from Senator Pius Anyim, has a PhD in Metabolic Engineering, while Akor was, until his appointment a director in the NPC
