unemploymentIN a bid to ensure that youths are gainfully employed after graduation, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc has given youths in the country the opportunity to showcase their talents in order to make them self reliant.

The Managing Director, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, Lanre Jaiyeola said every year, millions of graduates after school, have little or no hope in securing job opportunities, stressing the need for youths to put to judicious use, their skills and talents as a means of livelihood.

Speaking during the Honeywell cooking competition organised for corps members at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp, Jaiyeola said the competition is to reiterate the company’s commitment to ease youth restiveness by contributing immensely to efforts by the government to tackle unemployment in the country.

He added that besides encouraging young graduates to embrace entrepreneurship, the company has instituted a platform where young graduates are recruited and taken through 18 months training programme, to make them better future leaders.

“These are young graduates and to a large extent most of them would want to gather some work experience. For those of them who study courses that can enable them quickly settle into their own thing, if Honeywell is in a position to support them, we will do just that”, he said.
