Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, at the weekend, the Managing Director of Heidelberg, Jacob Bejer, said the partnership would help the economy of Nigeria, going by the experience and capacity of Muller Martini in creating employment and developing businesses for Nigerians.

According to him, ‘’Nigerians need to invest more in printing sector rather than importing books for reader from other countries. There is more in printing industry than the in oil and gas sector. With printing, many jobseekers will be able to put foods on their tables and become employers of labour, which will help relief the country of unemployment crisis.”

He said most of the students in Nigeria read books, which are mostly printed from China and India, instead of printing in the country in order to enable it grow the economy.

He then urged the government of Nigeria to invest more in printing sector, which will help the economy of the country move forward among others, if only more dedications can be given to the industry than before.

Bejer said this collaboration with Muller Martini is to provide best materials for printing and to improve the growth of the country through reading, which can be achieved effectively by printing books, which improves the country’s reading culture.

He further assured that with Muller Martini’s range of finishing equipment, Heidelberg Nigeria will be equipped with the strongest equipment and will have service upgrades.

Heidelberg Nigeria Ltd. is responsible for all aftersales service of present and future Muller Martini equipment, including the installed base of Heidelberg finishing equipment in Nigeria
