The Real Star Club, a non-profit organisation, has stressed the need for youths to embrace the rights skills, ethics and values to help create a better society.

It said good morals and strong ethical values are veritable tools for fighting corruption in the country. President and Coordinator of the club, Matthew Ebari, said corruption was not a stigma people talk about neither was it something in the sky but something that could be worked upon to impact the right values on the younger generation of Nigerians.

He disclosed this at its yearly youth leadership forum in Lagos tagged: Take a Stand. Ebari said the essence of the forum was to equip youths with information that would help them develop their character and capacity for leadership, as well as a move for them to develop their entrepreneur mindset.

He added that the forum also helps to prepare youths for leadership and how they can manage human resources rather than manage natural resources.

A behavioral management coach, Oluwawemimo Adebiyi, said corruption will always be in Nigeria because people have always experienced it in different forms, stating that it could be tackled based on individual will power.

She noted that youths needed to understand that whatever assignment they are given was time bound, so whatever they do now will count, if they allow corruption to dictate what they do.

Adebiyi added that youths needed to be selfless in discharging their duties in society, saying: “If you allow services to determine what you do, then you will be relevant to the next generation.”
