Firm pledges to unlock latent talents of youths 

The Business Development Manager, Vskit, Jared Guo has said his team would continue to provide Nigerians with platforms that would unleash millions of young talents, help them achieve their potentials and goals.

He stressed that virtually all young people have talents, which do not see the light of day because there was no platform to showcase it, adding that with Vskit, Africa’s largest creative short video community, Nigerians can showcase their talents and get connected to the world.

Jared stated this during Viskit’s first talent conference for content creators held in Lagos, where over 100 youths from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Lagos State University (LASU) and Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) were brought together to network and develop their talents.

Explaining the benefits of the platform, the Manager said the mobile app, developed by joint venture of Transsion groups, parent company of Tecno, Itel and infinix, allows anyone to create, share and watch awesome short videos and meet more interesting new friends around the world.He noted that within the space of seven months launched in Nigeria, there have been over five million young content developers and talents developed, which is part of the over 320 million users in the African region, which is its main focus.

“As you can see Vskit is trying to build a community that can help grow million of talents and it is fast growing, so we believe that in the future there will be more people coming into the community and getting their ideas, talents and beautiful moments out to the world.

“This may broaden the vision of the youths towards the world and change their views towards the world and by supporting those quality content creators we are hoping that Vskit can start a revolution on video-consuming here in Africa, which is happening in other parts of the world and we believe it’s where the future stands,” he said.

Also speaking, the Talent Development Manager and Specialist, Vskit, Uzoigwe Michael explained that with thousands of youths engaged in social vices, the platform seeks to engage them to make good use of their talents.

He added that through the platform, people have been linked with top notch in the entertainment industry as well as boost their careers, adding that the aim of the conference for the content creators was to, “help them network, get new ideas, know what talent and passion means, help them know about creativity and how they can become stars in the nearest future.”

Jared said there are incentives for content creators on the platform, while assuring Nigerians of plans to invest about five million dollars in getting more quality contents in the coming two years, while it also creates more opportunities for 20 million users in 2019.
