FG appoints new rector for Ado-Ekiti Poly

President Muhammed Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Dayo Hephzibah Oladebeye as the sixth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti.According to the polytechnic spokesperson, Mr Ade Adeyemi-Adejolu, the letter appointing Oladebeye was dated 1st March 2018.....

President Muhammed Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Dayo Hephzibah Oladebeye as the sixth substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti.According to the polytechnic spokesperson, Mr Ade Adeyemi-Adejolu, the letter appointing Oladebeye was dated 1st March 2018 and signed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and the appointment takes effect from Friday, 23rd February 2018.

“While handing over the letter of appointment to the new Rector and the Chairman of the Governing Council, Chief Austin Edeze on Monday, 12th March 2018, Mallam Adamu Adamu admonished Dr. Oladebeye to rule with the fear of God in all his consideration.

“Before his latest appointment, Dr. Oladebeye was first appointed as the Acting Rector of his Alma Mater on the 18th December 2017, following the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past Rector.

“He graduated from the Institution with Distinction in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 and joined the services of the Polytechnic as a Technologist in December 1987, after his youth service. Oladebeye thereafter rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer, the highest academic appointment in a Polytechnic, in 2007.

“Aged 55, Dr. Oladebeye, who holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, had, before his latest appointment, served three times as Head of Department, Director of Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for Engineering Innovation, Dean of the School of Engineering and Deputy Rector for about four years.“A COREN registered Mechanical Engineer, Oladebeye, who is a widely published academic, is the current National President of the FPA Alumni Association and the first Alumnus of the Polytechnic to become its Chief Executive.”
