The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has named First City Monument Bank (FCMB) the best contributing employer in Human Resource Development (HRD) for 2016.

The ITF said the emergence of FCMB as the merit award winner followed an evaluation exercise it carried out and also in recognition of the bank’s compliance with best practices, its staff training programmes and timely payment of annual financial obligations to the fund.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony, ITF Deputy Director/Area Manager for Lagos Central, Chuwang Pam, commended the bank for distinguishing itself as a viable corporate organisation committed to a culture of continuous learning and professionalism of employees.

Pam said the bank was given the award for its timely submission of a comprehensive annual training plan in compliance with the ITF regulations for review and approval and alignment of training curriculum with the standard competency framework for the banking industry.

Responding, Divisional Head, Corporate Services, FCMB, Felicia Obozuwa, described the recognition as a demonstration that the bank’s strategic approaches to boost employee learning and development were yielding the desired results.

She said capacity building and innovation were key priorities of the financial institution stating that the bank would continue to invest in building the skills and competencies of its employees through quality training and development programmes.
