To empower young girls with life skills to maximise their potential, Hope Inspired Foundation, organised a 5-day girls Boot camp, themed: “Finding your style and being YOU”.

The Foundation targets the girl- child, woman and the youths, aimed at raising transformational girls and leaders, who are purposeful and valuable that would influence their generation.

They were taught by speakers and trainers in cooking exercises, martial arts, drilling exercises, public speaking, sign languages, genotype, and genetics training among others.

Coordinator and Facilitator, Mrs. Treasure Uchegbu, while addressing clusters of girls living with different disabilities, ranging from visually impaired, hearing impairment, among others, to interact at training, urged Nigerian girls to carefully explore and develop their potential to the fullest benefit and for future generations.

She said: “We are building a society with great collaborators, and therefore resonates the magnitude and efficacy of the power that is available to the special persons. The ability to use it productively is hidden in their understanding of its existence and potential.”

Uchegbu disclosed that the event was an interactive one, to motivate students to gain knowledge on how to harness the power that lies within them as special persons for global impact.

She urged them to take care of themselves besides catering for their families and the society, and enjoined girls to discover their purpose, stressing that every girl leader is a home builder, whose purpose is connected to a problem in the nation or community they were born to solve.

She advised the girls to see their fellow females, as sisters, and not as rivals, and encouraged them to pursue their vision and support one another for a peaceful community, cities, and nation.

According to Uchegbu, these girls would transform into virtuous women and can be measured by many lives they have impacted positively. She encouraged them to live healthily and develop good habits that will keep them strong and prolong their days.

One of the participants, Cherish Ezeh, an undergraduate student at the University of Lagos, disclosed that it was her third time at the Girl Academy, and every time she learned something new, mind-blowing and outstanding.

She outlined some of the skills, such as cooking new African foods, martial arts, engaging community service for cerebral palsy children, public speaking among others.
