Experts charge youths on governance, leadership qualities

Youths have been charged to cultivate the collective zeal and responsibility to contribute their quota to improving the state of the country.

President, Junior Chambers International, Olamipo Adeola, who made the call at a forum, themed, “Leadership and Youth: Practical Roadmap to Self Growth through Community Impact,” identified the need to reach out to game changers in the society, to share their knowledge on leadership with the younger generation.

She maintained that it is imperative that youth and young leaders strived to be active, take the lead in their respective professions for the good of Nigeria.

Mrs. Modupe Adebiyi, a staff of Union Bank, tasked youths to be good ambassadors in the community they operate by serving humanity.

Also, speaking, former Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Dr Muiz Banire, gave vital tips on leadership skills such as accountability, transparency, selfless, responsibility, and tolerance among others.

He explained that political stewardship and responsibility are not giving to youths on a platter of gold, saying they should create and latch on wholesome opportunities, networking and mentorship that would add to nation building.

He also urged youths to engage more in political and humanitarian services in their immediate environment.
