Network solutions giant, Cisco has announced the appointment of David Meads as vice president for its Middle East and Africa operations.

Network solutions giant, Cisco has announced the appointment of David Meads as vice president for its Middle East and Africa operations.

The firm said in an era of digital disruption, Meads, in his new role, would oversee the execution of Cisco’s strategy in the two regions, ensuring that the company maintains its role in digital transformation efforts.

“As digital adoption gathers pace in the Middle East and Africa, the new geographical set up under Meads will allow for greater synergies, relevance and sharing of best practices in the regions.”

President, Cisco, EMEAR, Edwin Paalvast, said: “David Meads’ appointment comes at a time of tremendous potential for the region to reap the benefits of digital transformation, supported by digitisation in government and business agenda.”

With more than 30 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry, Meads joined Cisco in 1996 and was recently Cisco’s vice president for Africa, where he was responsible for partnering organisations across the continent to help them implement strategies to unlock the full potential of the digital era.

Cisco statement over the years, confirm that he has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor to enterprises and governments, collaborating with them to deliver competitive advantages and efficiencies gained from digital technologies.

“As we deepen the commitment to the region, we are excited to have someone of Mead’s calibre at the helm to spearhead our strategy and support customers along their digitisation journey.
