The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), has charged the newly inducted members to embrace continuous self-development through study, experience sharing and thoughtful application of best practices to enable them tackle challenges that may arise in the workplace.

The President of CIPM, Udom Inoyo, who commended the 612 inductees for meeting the institute’s requirements amid challenges, also tasked them to deploy their Human Resource Management (HRM) abilities and business knowledge to improve contributions to organisational performance.

Represented by the its Vice President, Wale Adediran, Inoyo, who spoke on the theme ‘Preparing for the New World of Work’, urged the new set of inductees to adhere strictly to the ethics of the profession and make practical contributions to the growth of the economy.

Inoyo advised that they should always promote excellence in the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills in the specialized fields to effectively contribute towards sustainable national development.

The Guest Speaker, Director, People and Organisation Advisory,PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Olusola Adewole,  in his address advised the associates to build network among themselves.

“Connect with as much people as you can because the size of your network determines your net worth. Get on LinkedIn and connect with anyone,” he said.

Adewole noted that a major trend that would face the work force of the future is demographic and social changes.

He continued: “Organisations have to deal with multiple generations involving the millennials and the older generation. They are all important for what they offer, thus the need to manage them effectively.”
