Dr. Aranmolate R. Ayobami of Grandville Medical and Laser has cleared the air on the procedure to go under liposuction in their hospital. Liposuction is a well-known cosmetic technique that involves removing extra fat from various body areas. The operation has risks and needs to be carefully considered before being done, despite being a generally safe and effective procedure. Client inquiry, which entails evaluating the patient’s medical history and physical condition before surgery, is a vital aspect of liposuction. The passionate surgeon and father said that the clinic investigates clients thoroughly to avoid complications.

“The first thing is that the patient has a desire, which is the reason they are in the clinic.” Then they come with their various questions, challenges, and fears. They come in and pay the consultation fee, and their vitals are checked by the nurses. Then they enter the consultation room with a chaperone available, and they tell me why they are there. After that, they make specific complaints about their body or a problem, which we usually call “complaints.” Then we ask them specific questions about the complaint, their health, and the diseases, so when we are done, we explain the procedure, they ask questions, and we respond. We also tell them the specific complications of what they want, and they ask questions about the procedures, which I answer. After this, they can still be scheduled again for more consultations and procedures.

They attend investigations to be sure they are fit for the surgery or procedure. “We also ask for specific investigations; when all this is done and we are satisfied with them, we can then book them,” he stated.

This crucial phase in the liposuction procedure guarantees the patient’s safety as well as helps in the achievement of the desired results. According to Dr. Aranmolate, it entails a thorough evaluation of the patient’s medical background, physical condition, and tests to find any underlying medical issues that could compromise the safety of the surgery. The surgeon can lower the chance of difficulties and guarantee a positive outcome for the patient by taking the time to thoroughly investigate the customer.

He also said that creating a system that works is his driving force toward healthcare for Nigerians and possibly the whole of Africa: “The whole aim is to create a system that works.” My parents were entrepreneurs; my dad deals with electronics and repairs, while my mom was a trader; she sold petty items, and this birthed my entrepreneurial spirit.

“My biggest role models are Dr. Fuadnahai, a well-known plastic surgeon who has written a lot of books on plastic surgery in Atlanta, USA, and Dr. Voigt, a general and burn surgeon in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. My tilt towards Dr. Fuadnahai, the plastic surgeon in Atlanta, is because of his skill and his ability to write about many of the things being done in plastic surgery,” he concluded.
