South-East investment summit to hold in Lagos Saturday

DETERMINED to improve the industrial ecosystem, the Imo State Liaison Office, Lagos in partnership with the South- East Business Associations in Lagos will be organizing the South-East business and investment summit.

   The summit is scheduled to hold at the National Arts Theatre Iganmu, Lagos on January 31st 2015.

   Addressing newsmen on the upcoming event recently in Lagos, the Liaison Officer and Summit Facilitator, Ononugbo Alfred Okwudili noted that the summit is aimed at developing a sustainable business and investment structures for the South-Eastern small and medium investors in Lagos as well as the generality of the South-West Nigeria.

   “The vision for the summit was driven by the fact that the non-formal sectors such as the entrepreneurs, drive the economy of the southeastern part of Nigeria and by every other consideration, the economy of Nigeria which identifies the southeast as a major key player in the drive to boost its economy.

   “In other words the southeast provides one of the most recognised drive in the private sector. The summit however, among its objectives, is looking at building a partnership of platform for discussion for agencies and businessmen to avoid barriers to their success in business, to create partnership on importation, to ensure a better understanding of the regulatory agency, to avoid unhealthy ideas, to create a platform to equip young minds with the right character and attitude, to build structures and standards in order to grow systematically, to bring back integrity in trading, and also create exposure to the international manufacturers”, he added.
