Organisations would achieve set optimal growth speedily when they embrace emerging trends of digital transformation, Philips Consulting (PCL) has said. PCL gave the charge at a breakfast meeting for Chief Information Officers (CIO) in Lagos recently.

The parley centred on the emerging trends and opportunities at the intersection of digital transformation and cyber security. In his welcome address, Managing Director, PCL, Rob Taiwo, described the meeting as a cross-industry event for innovative digital and business leaders who aim to identify and exploit opportunities to drive organisational performance.

Citing the American poet Gil Scott-Heron, he urged organisations to take notice of the ways digital technology is revolutionizing industries and be ready to key into the changing trend or risk being left behind.

Speaking on ‘Cyber securities in Nigeria: A regulatory perspective’, Deputy Director, Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Dr. Bala Fakandu, presented a rare glimpse into the regulatory perspective of cyber security in Nigeria. Fakandu said cyber-crime Act provides the agency the rights for incident management at the Nigerian Computer Emergency Response Team (ngCERT), stating that ONSA has the authority to develop, coordinate and implement cyber securities of all stakeholders in Nigeria.

PCL also announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft at the meeting. Speaking on the partnership with Microsoft, Taiwo said: “Though it is into digital technology consulting practice, PCL possesses deep industry and business expertise. Coupled with Microsoft’s market leading technology, in the areas of cloud computing, cyber security and data analytics, we can jointly provide our customers a set of business aligned technology solutions that are perfectly in sync with a Digital 4.0 economy.”

Associate Partner Digital and Technology, PCL, Jason Ikegwu, said the partnership would allow the consulting firm drive digital transformation and, ultimately, growth in ambitious forward-looking organisations.
