Chemstar Paints rewards distributors
CHEMSTAR Paints Industry Nigeria Limited has rewarded its loyal customers across the country with gift items and cash rewards.
The Group Managing Director, Chemstar Paints Industry Nigeria Limited, Aderemi Awode, explained that the move to reward distributors is intended to appreciate their efforts in building strong relationships with the company in a sustainable and profitable manner.
Awode explained during the 2014 customers’ forum that manufacturing in the country has been tough and challenging, pointing out that it has also been rewarding.
A press statement quoted Awode as saying: “Since we are in the business of what we know how to do and what we love to do, and the commitment from our staff, we have been able to achieve this great achievement for the past 20 years we started operations.”
He said the company’s distributors are very loyal; maintaining that rewarding their patronage is vital for sustainability and profitability.
“This customer forum is a special one which marks our 20th anniversary. We have come a long way to equip our factories with state-of-the –art automated machineries to produce world-class paints, chemicals and plastics,” he said.
He said since 1995 it started operations, the factory has so far expanded its operations to Ghana, South Africa, Turkey and across Nigeria, saying that it has also increased its distributors and staff strength to a sizeable amount over the course of its business operations in the country.
According to him, most of the industries in the country import about 60 per cent of their raw materials for production, saying that Nigeria spends so much of its hard earned money on imports.
He expressed concerns over the insurgency situation in the northern part of the country, maintaining that about 65 per cent of its turnover comes from the north.
“Due to the insurgency, our turnover has decreased compared to what we had the previous year. Hopefully, we believe the situation will come to an end so that businesses will continue to thrive in the country.
Also speaking at the event, the General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Chemstar Paints Industry Nigeria Limited, Fola Laguda said the success behind the 20 year achievement is courtesy of the company’s passion for the job, product and its esteemed loyal distributors and customers.
“For the next decade, adding some more technological breakthrough, we are going to maintain the first position in the industry,” he added.
He appealed to the federal government to as a matter of urgency, give local manufacturers incentives on raw materials, saying that if the government can stop the influx of imported paints into the Nigerian market, it will go a long way to boost local production that would later translate into job opportunities for the nation’s teeming unemployed youths.
The event also saw the company rewarding fast growing distributors, outstanding regional distributors, distributors with over 15 years business relationships and shield paints outstanding distributors.
One of the rewarded distributors, Ganiyu Adeyemi went home with a 300 watts and 1000 watts home theatre system, refrigerator, 2.8 kva gasoline generator and a chest freezer for being an outstanding distributor.
