Benue approves industrial training for 500 indigenes

The Benue State government has approved the training of 500 indigenes of the state by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in skills acquisition. The state executive council, which took the decision at a meeting in Makurdi, also directed that the training should include 230 nominees from the 23 councils in the state and 270 others across the state.

The meeting also approved the acquisition of start-up kits for the trainees in fish farming, welding and fabrication, fashion design and tailoring, plaster of Paris, (POP), confectionary, as well as carpentry and woodwork.

It directed members of the state executive council to identify those engaged in small-scale agro processing in their local council areas for the state government to host them and discuss ways of boosting their production.

In another development, the council approved the review of contract and payment of the sum of N320, 648, 103.00 for the construction of Ge-Ikyobo-Agbeede-Amua-Anshagba road in order to facilitate its completion.
