The Agricultural Research and Management Training Institute (ARMTI) Ilorin has commenced massive training of youths on how they can create wealth through the growth and sales of Cassava.

The Executive Director of ARMTI, Dr Olufemi Oladunni said the concept of “Cassava Value Chain Development”, (CVCD) a creation of the institute, where selected cassava growers pulled resources together from the level of planting to the level of sales of the product and to the point of profit sharing had in recent years become a catalyst for wealth creation among the participants.

He believed that the concept should be inculcated into the nation’s younger generation towards a drastic reduction in the numbers of unemployment among youths and as an addition to the values of food production in Nigeria.

Oladunni spoke at Oke Ero in Oke Ero Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara state during the training of 40 youths drawn across some towns within the council in the practices of the concept of the CVCD.
