This is in line with the mandate of the association to strengthen its relationship with other bodies, and not to criminalise the practice of forensic accounting and fraud examination for those that are not its members.

The Guest Speaker, a Professor of Accounting, Bayero University, Kano State, Prof. Isa Dandago, who spoke on the impact of fraud to the economy and national development, stressed that fraud has huge impact on the people, society, economy and nation. To a large extent, he noted that fraud has hindered the progress of the country even as government has invested heavily in the investigation of fraudulent practice, which is diverting concentration away from developmental goals.
