Abiloye wins Arbitrators award

A total of 78 arbitrators bagged Fellowship status while Mr. Olushola Abiloye, a distinguished legal practitioner with the law firm of Adepetun, Caxton-Martins, Agbor & Segun emerged the overall best candidate and winner of the Aare Afe Babalola’s Prize for the “first and the best” position in the Fellowship category.

THE Chartered Institute of Arbitrators held its yearly President’s Dinner/Induction and Award Ceremony recently.
A total of 78 arbitrators bagged Fellowship status while Mr. Olushola Abiloye, a distinguished legal practitioner with the law firm of Adepetun, Caxton-Martins, Agbor & Segun emerged the overall best candidate and winner of the Aare Afe Babalola’s Prize for the “first and the best” position in the Fellowship category.

This year’s Fellows included Justice C.C Nweze of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Chief Folake Solanke, who were conferred with honorary Fellows of the Institute. Others included Justices of the Court of Appeal as well as the Federal High Court, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, members of the academia and other distinguished professionals in the field of Arbitration.

Welcoming members and guests to the event, the General-Secretary of the Institute, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), stated that the event was part of the Institute’s commitment to facilitate and promote the administration and development of Arbitration and other ADR practice and ethics in Nigeria. The event was attended by members of the Bench, legal practitioners and cross-section of members of the societ y.
