Wendy Williams’ Ex-Husband Seeks Unpaid Spousal Support

Kevin Hunter, the ex-husband of television personality Wendy Williams, has filed a motion for nearly two years of unpaid spousal support.

This claim comes following Williams’ diagnosis of dementia and her subsequent move into a wellness facility.

According to court documents, Hunter alleges that he has not received spousal support payments since January 2022, which he claims are essential for his living expenses.

The legal team representing Hunter argues that Wendy Williams is responsible for the unpaid support following their divorce in 2021.

Williams, who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, is currently under the care of a court-appointed legal guardian who oversees her finances and health to prevent potential exploitation due to her cognitive issues.

This situation has raised questions about her ability to process information and manage financial transactions.

Wendy Williams experienced a tumultuous marriage with her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter. The couple’s relationship, which began when they met at a skating rink in 1994, led to their marriage in 1997.

Throughout their union, Hunter played a significant role in Williams’ career, even helping to launch her iconic program, The Wendy Williams Show, in 2008.

However, their marriage was marred by challenges, including allegations of cheating and abuse, which resulted in Williams filing for divorce in April 2019.

The divorce proceedings revealed that Hunter had fathered a child with his mistress, which added to the public scrutiny of their separation.

Despite the personal and professional complexities, their divorce was finalized in January 2020, with both parties foregoing alimony and agreeing to sell their shared property. Their marriage lasted for 21 years.
