Digitalback-Books(DBB), an eBook platform offering readers instant and unlimited access to a growing digital library of books from across Africa and the Diaspora extends its catalogue to include the Africa Arguments and the Africa Now series from Zed Books, a leading Independent book publisher for a global audience of students, academics, activists and general readers.

Speaking on the latest moves, Gersy Ifeanyi Ejimofo, founder of Digitalback Books said, “We are extremely pleased about our most recent deal with Zed Books who is a critical and dynamic publisher committed to increasing awareness of important international issues and to promoting progressive social change”.

Speaking further on the platform, Ejimofo said, “Our vision is to make books on Africa more easily accessible and discoverable to Africans, and this list is particularly important as it publishes a range of concise, engaging non-fiction books that address the key issues currently facing Africa. The books are topical, thought-provoking, and accessible and should serve as essential reading for anyone interested in getting to the heart of understanding contemporary Africa.”

Since its launch in December 2014, Digitalback Books has expanded its catalogue and Zed Books is the latest publisher to sign an agreement with DBB.

With close to 500 carefully curated titles from publishers and distributors like UK based African Books Collective, Peepal Tree, New Internationalist, South Africa based MME Media as well as Nigerian based Parresia publishers and Kachifo Ltd, the platform is rapidly expanding to offer a broad range of content covering literary works, genre fiction, political writings and memoirs all instantly accessible and easily discoverable on one digital library.

Digitalback Books is now available to a rapidly growing population of increasingly mobile and data-savvy users in Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy.

DBB sources content from across Africa and the Diaspora and makes them widely accessible as a digital library to consumers and institutions alike.

Leveraging advances in technology and the explosion of mobiles devices on the continent, Digitalback Books seeks to plug some of the gaps that the region’s publishing industry faces in distribution while creating a single comprehensive platform for all of Africa’s stories.
