A technology solution, telematics has been unveiled and is touted to have the capacity of slashing organisations’ expenses on vehicles, generators and others by 30 per cent.

The telematics solution, which is from Citracks, a subsidiary of C&I Leasing and its technical partner, Galooli, assists organizations to gather necessary information about their fleet of vehicles on roads, drivers’ behaviour, generator performance, accuracy of fuel supply and consumption for effective management.

Simply put, telematics is a branch of technology, which captures at backend the behaviours of autos and electrical engineering, using sensors.

The telematics solution for fleet of vehicles management and generator is estimated to have saved companies in 27 countries about $300 million in operational cost in the last eight years since the company started deploying the technology.

Unveiled at a conference in Lagos, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, C&I Leasing, Andrew Otike-Odibi, said the company introduced Citracks as one of its business units to address the imbalance in fleet and power businesses in the county.

He said the telematics conference was put together to highlight technology solutions that would help organisations and individuals to manage their fleet of vehicles and generators in the most cost-effective manner that would save them as high as 30 per cent in their operational cost.

He said that Citracks had gone beyond the transportation business of vehicle tracking and fleet management, to a full technology business company using telematics to provide technology solutions for organisations.

The Managing Director, Galooli, Nissim Moshe, described the partnership between Citracks and Galooli as one that had used technology and telematics to change the face of business in Nigeria since Galooli entered into the market in 2016.

The Chief Technical Officer, Galooli, Kim Fraser, said the company had integrated its variety of solutions into a single app, “which offers several services that meet customers’ needs.”

According to him, the app is available on Google Play Store for download on any Android device and comes with great ease of use.
