TalkLove Africa Foundation engages Rumoji Community leaders on free digital skills for women

In a significant move towards community development and women’s empowerment, TalkLove Africa Foundation recently initiated a stakeholders’ visit to Rumoji community leaders in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The visit aimed to rally support and participation from community leaders for an upcoming Digital Skills Training program funded by the European Union which is tailored for the women in the community.


Led by the TalkLove Africa Foundation, the engagement brought together influential stakeholders, including community leaders and passionate individuals dedicated to uplifting their community’s prospects.

The event served as a platform to underscore the importance of digital literacy in enhancing socio-economic opportunities and individual empowerment in today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape.

Cynthia Obinwanne, the Program Director, emphasized the pivotal role of digital skills in empowering women and fostering community development. She highlighted the necessity of collaboration with community leaders to ensure the success and sustainability of the Digital Skills Training initiative.

During the interactive session, community leaders voiced their strong endorsement of the initiative, pledging to mobilize residents to actively participate in the training programs. They recognized the transformative potential of digital literacy in opening doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and educational advancement for women in the community.

Representatives from the TalkLove Africa Foundation presented the comprehensive curriculum planned for the Digital Skills Training, covering essential topics such as basic computer literacy, internet navigation, digital marketing, and graphics design. The training aims to equip participants between the ages of 18-40 years with practical skills and tools to thrive in the digital era and make meaningful contributions to the local economy.

The stakeholders’ engagement event concluded with a collective commitment to collaborate closely in the implementation and execution of the Digital Skills Training initiative. Community leaders affirmed their full support in mobilizing residents and providing the necessary infrastructure to ensure the effective delivery of the training sessions.
