A cross-section of students

THE Zone D (South West) chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has requested the Provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State, Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina, to make provision for employing its members in the school.

NANS made the request while honouring Dr. Odedina with the Outstanding Leadership Awardí on the campus.

The event, which also coincided with the chapterís zonal convention, took place at the premises of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State.
The programme, which had participating institutions drawn from all the six south western states, also had in attendance the NANS Joint Campus Committee (JCC) chairmen of the respective states, over 55 student union presidents, past leaders of the organisation and a representation of the student community of the host school.

The Zone D Coordinator of NANS, Asefon Sunday, commended the leadership of the college for clear vision of transforming the college and making graduates self-reliant and thoroughbred.

In his remarks, Dr. Odedina expressed satisfaction with NANSí decision to bring the zonal convention to the institution. He further highlighted the various transformations the college had experienced since the inception of his administration, especially as regards students, welfare, as evident by the drastic reduction of school fees, abolition of excursion fees, provision of good learning environment, good management-student union relationship, among other things.

NANS Coordinator, Comrade Asefon, presented the Outstanding Leadership Award to Dr. Odedina, making a request for the provision of employment opportunities for NANS members.
