Somebody can claim he loves God and that may be lip service. That is not the love that God is demanding, what He wants from you is the love that will take all your soul, all your heart and mind.

Matt 22:37“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

God’s commandment is that whatever is the totality of our love should be reserved for Him. This love includes willingness to give up all that we hold dear at His command, willingness to give up our lives to Him, and devote it all to His service, readiness to submit all our faculties to His teachings and guidance, and to devote to Him all our intellectual attainments, and above all, to be ready to labour and toil for His glory, and make that the cardinal point of our duty.

Matt. 22:35-40 states,“Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

If the first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord, then the Lord is asking you this day: ‘where is my love,’ and as you ponder this question in your mind, I want you to search yourself and know whether it is the kind of love, which God is demanding from you – a love with all your mind, with all your soul, with all your heart is what you have for Him in your heart?

Somebody can claim he loves God and that may be lip service. That is not the love that God is demanding, what He wants from you is the love that will take all your soul, all your heart and mind. If this is not the love you have for Him, God is asking you now, where is my love? Every believer has the evidence of the love of God upon his/her life, because the Almighty has shown and demonstrated His great love towards us believers by giving us the Redeemer, and if that is the case, the question before you today is: where is the love of God in your life?

John 3:16 says,“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Here, you can see demonstration of practical, unabridged and untainted love. The world was in a ruinous, condemned state, about to perish everlastingly; and was utterly without power to rescue itself from destruction. But God, through the impulse of His eternal love, provided for its rescue and salvation, by giving His only Son to die for it. This is the kind of love, which God Almighty first shown to us and is asking us to reciprocate in our day-to-day fellowship with Him.

Rom. 5:8“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” While we were wicked, while we do not know God, while we are dying and heading to hell, Christ died for us. He loves us while we don’t know Him. He gave Himself up for us, while we are yet sinners and wickedly working against Him. This is the greatest love ever demonstrated to humanity. So, as a true child of God, you are expected to reciprocate and, not just saying you are a true child of God, holy and born again and there is nothing to prove it. That you are holy, and truly converted should not end in the mouth, you must show it by the love you have for God, the love you have for brethren, the love you have for things of God. That is why God is asking you today: where is my love?

Many have confessed they love God, but you can’t really see it in them, as their claims have no evidence. They claim to love God without demonstrating it physically or practically. If you are among those making false claim that they love God, He is asking them, today, to prove the love they have for Him.
